about

Second and final single from the album 'Even a Broken Record'.

A bitter commentary of the child-like lack of care that we as a race have exhibited over the course of time – habitually flying too close to the sun, and plumbing depths best left untouched – all while hurting our solitary planet in the process. We must remember that we are mortal, temporary, and should not let our hubris get the best of us. Our planet is not defenceless. Mother Earth will last long after we're dead, having shaken us off as if we were fleas.

lyrics

Oh Mother, can't you find forgiveness
Dig down, and join in concord?
You scattered us to pieces
Divided, truly conquered
Don't shut the Pearly Gates on us
We swear to God that it made sense
You know how hard it is to face
Actions and their consequence?

(You are a flesh automaton
Driven by neurotransmitters
You are a flesh automaton
Driven by neurotransmitters
You are a flesh automaton
Driven by neurotransmitters
You are a flesh automaton
Driven by neurotransmitters)

We are light, divine
Behold, our Tower of Babel
Our holy megastructure
A beautiful disaster
Don't mind the swooping vultures
Don't mind the gaping sutures
We are light, divine!

(We don't understand
How to understand
How our actions led
To their consequence
We don't understand
How to understand
How our actions led
To their consequence)

Beneath the icy crust
We dug our tomb
The earth ran red with rust
As we plumbed her womb
We always were so curious
We thought the worst was so unreal
Our nature so mercurial
Now we choose to die upon this hill

(We don't understand
How to understand
How our actions led
To their consequence
We don't understand
How to understand
How our actions led
To their consequence)

We are light, divine
Behold, our Tower of Babel
Our holy megastructure
A beautiful disaster
Don't mind the swooping vultures
Don't mind the gaping sutures
We are light, divine!
